State of the Guild Address

~ ~ ~

Greetings Combine Syndicate members, players of Antonia Bayle, and Citizens of Norrath,

Seven months have passed since the creation of <Combine Syndicate> -- the premier Progression guild on this server. In that time, our guild has been tested in ways none of us could have imagined. We faced steep hurdles regarding our goals and purpose, rising competition on the server, and the (real life) health and (in game) morale of our members. These issues call for vigorous (and sometimes heated) debate, and I think it's safe to say we as a guild have answered that call, for sure. ;)

Yet I still believe we can all agree that amid our differences, we have acted with true conviction, and together we showed what the determination of a few stubborn, depraved little MMO players can accomplish. We locked our levels to 60 for tier 6 raids and to 70 for tier 7 raids, forsaking a lot of content all in the name of the the guild's Charter. Not only did raid-hardened veterans make the sacrifice, but even new players joined our ranks! We as a leadership team know we have always asked a lot of you as members of this guild, and we are very proud of what you all accomplished in the time we had as a Progression guild.

Now the time has come for some changes to ensure a prosperous future for CS. As of tonight, we will no longer call ourselves a Progression guild. What does this mean, you ask? Well, it means we no longer require our raiding members to level lock at all, all raids are on hold pending the rebuilding of the raid force, and the rethinking of the guild Charter.

Please do not feel as if this is a battle lost or a death to mourn. We are still a casual raid guild hell bent on experiencing the game as a whole, yet we are now more inclined towards T9. If I know him well enough, our raid leader is hammering out plans as we speak for our future endeavors. We are still the same core people with the same values, ideas, and sense of humor. Nothing will change there, and we will help one another get to 90, gear up, and have fun as we have always done.

But the sad truth is we are, have always been, and would have continued to be a very niche guild, and it is quite hard to recruit for a guild such as this. With Sentinel's Fate releasing in a few weeks, how fair would it be to ask so much more of our loyal members: "Stay locked, hope we can recruit enough to fill our force to continue progression, and wait patiently." No, CS leadership does not want to do this to our friends.

We thank all of our core members, loving friends, and ambitious apps for the time you've put into making CS work as a Progression guild. We also apologize to any potential apps out there. (Where were you guys months ago! :D ) To everyone we say, we are not a dying guild, we are not a wavering or weak leadership, and we are not going away. We have merely changed direction. We hope that you are willing to walk with us.

Thank You,
CS Leadership

Starting the New Year off right!

Well we decided to start of the New Year and our EoF content first by taking down Tarinax last Sunday and getting Koryck and Crymzon their claymores. Then, we moved on to kill Pumpkin Headed Horseman last night! Great job guys! We're going to do just fine in EOF!

3 grouping Tarinax like nobody's business!

Once we got into our rhythm, we were able to easily clear Tarinax. It took us a total of two pulls to take him out. One was needed to get used to positioning his fat ass! You can see from the picture that we kept his head as a trophy
